 In 1863, French chemist C.Fredel and American chemist J.M.Crafts synthesized the world's first organosilicon compound containing Si C bonds tetraethylsilane (SiEt4), thus opening the development of organosilicon chemistry. Since then, many scholars have successively synthesized many derivatives of tetraethylsilane. From 1904 to 1937, people not only synthesized many simple organosilicon compounds, but also started the research and synthesis of asymmetric silicon atom compounds, which created conditions for the research of organosilicon photoactive isomers. This is the stage of development of organosilicon chemistry. Then between 1938 and 1965, J.F.Hyde, a chemist at Corning Glass Works in the United States, and W.J.Patnode and E.G.Rochow of General Electric Company, recognized the development potential of silicone polymers and improved silicone The synthesis method of the monomer enables the industrial production of the organosilicon high polymer. In particular, the "direct synthesis method" of methylchlorosilane invented by Rochow in 1941 set off a revolution in organosilicon chemistry.

In 1945, silicone rubber products came out. From 1966 to the present, it is the prosperous stage of organic silica gel, which has opened up many new fields of organic silicon chemistry, such as the synthesis of si-metal bond compounds, especially the compounds of silicon and transition elements, which are the most meaningful and valuable.
